Past CRHP Events

Testimonial from Fall 2014

“The night before CRHP weekend began, I met with a friend and was telling her about how excited I was to attend this Church retreat. She responded by saying, ‘You are going to spend the entire weekend in a church basement and you are excited about that?’ So I began to doubt myself, and become not so excited, I began thinking what have I done…what have I gotten myself into… Well, I am here to tell you that I signed myself up for the best weekend of my adult Christian life. The church basement didn’t seem like a church basement. It seemed like a sanctuary of peace and genuine encouragement. I never once wondered what time it was or thought when is this going to be over. In fact, at one point, I thought, ‘Can I just stay here a little longer?’, but they made me go home. I was able to take some real long overdue quiet time to pray, reflect on my current life situations, and set some new Christian goals for not only myself, but also my family. This retreat eliminated all the temptations/distractions that are present in my home for me, the electronic devices that are easily accessible or the endless needs/requests of family members that women tend to prioritize getting done before their own needs. I was able to focus and open my heart and mind to what God was calling me to do. I met a great group of women who I see on Sundays, and they hold me accountable if I miss church. It is like they are my mom or something … They have gotten to meet my very rambunctious children and have gotten to know each of them by name. One other positive result I can attribute to this weekend, is that I was reminded of how much I need and crave the daily scripture readings and to designate a spot in my house for prayer. This support group of women continues to encourage me months later to live my life courageously for God, something I would not have if I had not made the decision to spend a weekend in the church basement. So if you are on the fence about signing up for this upcoming CRHP weekend, I say close your eyes, be courageous and give yourself the opportunity to have the best weekend of your adult Christian life, you will not be disappointed.”

I would like to close with a bible verse:

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
